Most WoW Mythic World First race last for one week of continuous attempts from the top WoW guilds. This was the situation with the two previous raids held in Shadowlands. The fight to take down the Jailer, and to complete Sepulcher in it's First Ones on Mythic difficulty took a grueling 18 days The victory ended up coming to European guild Echo using a raid team composed comprising two Warcraft five healers and 13 DPS. Echo also took home World First during the previous game, Sanctum of Domination.
Another issue mythic raiders had to face this time around was that the game's mechanics for the final three bosses of the quest were largely a mystery. Players are usually able to try out upcoming raids as well as the mechanics on the game's publicly-available test realm. However Blizzard deliberately excluded the Lords of Dread, Rygelon and Jailer boss encounters from the PTR before launch. The guilds were forced to make use of datamined, incomplete information to formulate their plans.
Even bosses included on the PTR, like Halondrus that gave raiders run for their money, with Liquid going through 357 rounds before being defeated. The Jailer himself had a secret phase that was revealed after the boss was reduced to 10 percent HP. This gave guilds another hurdle to face when the race began winding down. It took Echo 277 attempts on the Jailer to win the World First title.
